A message from the chair
I would like to thank you all personally for the support you have given me over the past two years, that I have been the Chair, including Committee members for their hard work over the years.
Some very long serving members have stood down this year, namely Anne Henderson, Rob Phillips, Bill Hulme, Mavis Allitt and Rachel Johnson. I thank you all for everything you have done for us.
Gillian Slinn has stood down as Membership Secretary after many years but has agreed to stay on the Committee.
Thanks also to the Programme Planning committee, Group Leaders, Tim and Allan for running the technology so smoothly, Peter Wilson our Webmaster (check it out), Barbara Hulme for preparing the Newsletter, and members who put their names down for making Teas and Coffees, washing up, taking the Register and arranging the chairs.
Special thanks to Rob and Tricia; who have both worked so hard and enthusiastically for many years and we miss their expertise, their friendship and their love for the u3a and all of us in it. We will really miss Rob, a past Chair and stalwart member of the committee for many years, for his technical and digital expertise.
We welcome Diane Pittam as Membership Secretary and wish her every success. We also welcome Rachel Hawken and Mike Tomlinson onto the Committee. Remember our U3A is only as good as all our members. We all need to do our bit, so I thank you all for your enthusiasm and your help. Here’s to another successful year.

Ynys Môn or Anglesey is the largest island in Wales. It is an island of outstanding natural beauty and a utopia for those who enjoy outdoor pursuits on land or sea. The island has some of the oldest rock in Europe and a documented history going back to the time of the Roman invasion of Britain. Yet it has the convenience of two famous bridge connections to the mainland and easy access to urban areas.
Anglesey U3A was started in 1996. Currently there are more than 180 members. Our motto is Education, Enlightenment, Entertainment and Enjoyment.
What is u3A ?
U3A is a growing UK wide self-help organisation with nearly 500,000 members and aims to support continued learning for pleasure in a friendly environment. Membership is open to those no longer in (and not seeking) full time employment.
The weekly meeting, where speakers present on a wide variety of subjects, is our main focus. It is every U3A's aim to mainly seek speakers from within the membership.
