Summer 2026
A message from the chair

I would like to thank all those who offered me help after my accident; it was very much appreciated.
It is testament to the wonderful caring nature of all in the Anglesey u3a.

We are enjoying some excellent talks this Spring term and look forward to many more interesting and lively talks; thanks for all the hard work that goes into arranging them.
The two new groups, ‘Board Games’ and ‘Singalong’ are proving successful and look forward to welcoming more members to join in the fun.
We would like more members to join the Committee with a view to shadowing the work of Committee members or just to help in the running of our u3a.
We are in desperate need of both a Social Secretary and Membership Secretary to assist me in my role of Chair. Gillian Slinn, who has filled the latter post for over 12 years, is stepping down at the AGM.
Without filling all our available posts, your u3a will be unable to continue. Something we’re sure no one wants to happen.
We also need members to contribute in the weekly roles of putting the Chairs out (and away), taking the Register, Brewing/Washing up etc.
If you can help – see me. We are very lucky to have such a friendly and happy u3a and want it to continue well into the future.

Denise Giorgi (Chair)

Ynys Môn or Anglesey is the largest island in Wales. It is an island of outstanding natural beauty and a utopia for those who enjoy outdoor pursuits on land or sea. The island has some of the oldest rock in Europe and a documented history going back to the time of the Roman invasion of Britain. Yet it has the convenience of two famous bridge connections to the mainland and easy access to urban areas.

Anglesey U3A was started in 1996. Currently there are more than 180 members. Our motto is Education, Enlightenment, Entertainment and Enjoyment.

What is u3A ?

U3A is a growing UK wide self-help organisation with nearly 500,000 members and aims to support continued learning for pleasure in a friendly environment. Membership is open to those no longer in (and not seeking) full time employment.

The weekly meeting, where speakers present on a wide variety of subjects, is our main focus. It is every U3A's aim to mainly seek speakers from within the membership.

Come and join if you want:-
Somewhere to share your interests
To keep active and fit
Meet people in a similar position
Be part of a wider community
Have fun and enjoyment now you're retired

New members are assured of a friendly welcome.
More details can be found on the Meetings page.
